With support and sponsorship from PSDP Project at GIZ- Yemen The Annual Microfinance Meeting was organized on Thursday the 26th of May.
The meeting commenced by an opening statement from the Deputy Ministry of Social Affairs and labor Mr.Ali Saleh Abdullah who stressed on the importance of the meeting and how it would reflect on the performance of the Microfinance Sector in the past year and evaluate the performance of the sector and the struggling economy and the work being done to alleviate poverty.
On the other hand the newly elected Chairman Mr. Hameed Al-Amrani welcomed the guest of YMN to the Annual Meeting and opened the discussion in regards to the issues and challenges that the Microfinance Sector faced in the year 2015 and the past few months. Moreover, the Managing Director of YMN congratulated the newly elected board for YMN and welcomed the Annual Meeting guest from member MFIs and other organizations. The open discussion also included the presentation of the results of the study conducted by YMN titled “The Impact of War on Microfinance Sector” by Mr. Ameen Dabwan.
