The GIZ (The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH ) together with YMN organized a workshop to discuss the current crisis and how to enhance the Microfinance Industry.
The workshop was held on the 10th of August at the GIZ office in Sana’a.
The objective of this workshop was to find out what are the main challenges in the Microfinance sector and the obstacles that face MFIs as a result of the ongoing crisis.
the attendants of this event who represented the stakeholders of the MF sector discussed the key issues and how to tackle them on a short term as well optimizing and enhancing the ability of MFIs to restore their operations.
The opening statement of Mr.Tawfil AlDobhani stressed on the commitment of GIZ to support the MFI in these difficult times.
On the other hand YMN MD Mr.Ali Abutaleb praised the role that GIZ plays in supporting the MFIs and Microfinance sector.
The discussions concluded with determining a roadmap for future steps that are to be taken in order to overcome the challenges.
