Establishment in 22 nd June 2005 by the Social Fund for Development SFD as a not for profit NGO with a legal independent identity organized by the NGO law. The foundation provides loans for investments to individuals and groups in the form of cash or the purchase of product system as well as home repair service and interdependence.

Mission

AMF aims at improving the living standards of limited-income clients, particularly women, through providing them with distinguished financial and non-financial services in the Yemeni rural and urban areas.

Al-Awael Microfinance Company

About

The Alawael Microfinance Company is the legal diversity of the development of Small Projects & Handicrafts (MICRO START) which is one of the activities of the United Nations Development Programme in Yemen. Al-Awael was established in the Year of 2000 in coordination with the Ministry of Labour & Welfare and funded by the UNDP and SFD. In 2004 it formed and registered itself as a company. The company targets male and female small business owners. The products offered by Al-Awael are individual loans for males and females, group loans for females and loans for starting up a small business as well as consumption loans.

The raise of production capacity and income of the small projects owners especially the women in the Governorate of Taiz and the surrounding regions through lending long term services to comply with their needs and to become small FINANCING Company with financial stability.

Women Association for Sustainable Development (WASD) was founded in Aden on March 28, 1998. It started practicing causes related to women issues and how to involve them in development.

Mission

A Voluntary, national, independent and non-profit organization established in March 28, 1998 in order to empower women economically and improve the family subsistence. This will be through training, small vocational rehabilitation, microfinance loan program for income generating and youth development training. WASD works in advocacy and partnership with many international and regional organizations working in Yemen.

About

National Microfinance Foundation was established in Yemen in October, 2003; however, it launched its field operations in 2004 being financed by contributions from Social Fund For Development, contributions from a number of social leaders and local foundations which believed that the provision of financial services like saving, loan, etc. will increase the level of income and improve the living conditions of the targeted groups. National Microfinance Foundation is considered as the first and largest microfinance foundation in Yemen and it is the only foundation in Yemen that performs field collection, too. The network of the foundation ranges across 20 branches and offices, most of its services are centered in the rural areas and the number of its staff amounted to 148 Employees

NMF has a mission to improve the economic and social living standards of individuals and communities through integrated financial and non-financial services via qualified staff using innovative approaches to meet client requirements
