Yemen Microfinance Network (YMN) concluded on Thursday, February 23, 2017 the training course titled “Accounting for Non-Accountants” which began on February 20. The training was attended by a number of participants from MFIs, YMN members, attended from Aden, Abyan, al-Mukalla and Sana’a as well as participants from Loan Guarantee Program at SFD.
The training was delivered by Mr. Sofyan Ali Shamsan who holds YCPA and has a rich experience in Microfinance and is also one of the top trainers with the Social Fund for Development (SFD) and YMN. The course included several topics for example::
– Accounting definition and concepts.
– Objectives and functions of accounting.
– Accounting terminology.
– Accounting work cycle.
– Types of accounts.
– The theory of double entry.
– Posting to the general ledger.
– Reports and financial statements.
During the Closing, the participants expressed the great benefit they have obtained from the training and their constant need for such accounting concepts that certainly will have a positive on their careers in the Microfinance sector.
